Friends, the warmest of welcomes to 2025! That feels strange to read and stranger still to type. 2025. Hm. It’s like we’re living in ~the future~
There’s a handful of new readers here after my last post ‘How I Fell in Love with Creating Again’ and to that I say, well, … hi! I’m both thrilled and terrified to have you here!!!!
I’m kidding (sort of) about being terrified. The whole point of that blog post—which was a reflection of my journey through The Artist’s Way—was to share that in 2024, I re-discovered my love of creating for no one else but myself. Isn’t it slightly ironic that that is the post that has brought the most new readers to my SubStack?
But it has, once again, shown me how many kindred spirits there are out there in this world. I’m happy it resonated with others, and even happier that it may kickstart their own creative journey in 2025. The more the merrier!
The past two years, in my pre-SubStack days, I created blog posts on WordPress detailing some made-up awards for my favorite 2022 reads and favorite 2023 reads. Now, it’s time to carry on the tradition!
Without further ado… here are my very niche, specific, silly 2024 Reading Awards!

I read SO many good books this year, but my favorite (definitely late to the party) would be Wuthering Heights. I also really loved rereading some childhood faves like HP and Anne of Green Gables <3
Late to the party “Assassin’s Apprentice” by Robin Hobb 🗡️
