Hello and happy October, friends! It’s a been a while since my last Alphabet Challenge vlog (D is for Dirndl). I’m happy to report that during the last month, I HAVE attended Oktoberfest and got to wear said dirndl! 💛
For my next vlog in the Alphabet Challenge series, my friend Jules (hi Jules!!!) recommended E be for Eierschalensollbruchstellenverursacher!
(English translation: Eggshell breaker)
A few weeks after we moved to Munich, my husband’s boss gifted him this lovely tool after teaching him the word, and this felt like the perfect opportunity to crack this baby open and figure out how it actually works. (With the help of this youtube tutorial.)
… In the process, I may have discovered that I actually like hard boiled eggs??? Learn something new everyday.
Also, please don’t look at that word and think that German is some crazy, intimidating language. From my experience, whenever I mention this word to a German friend or student, they often don’t have it memorized and have to look it up. This reminds me of how Hippopotomonstrosesquippedaliophobia is the fear of long words. We all know that, but how many of us actually have the word memorized?
Without further ado… watch this video and crack open an egg with me!🥚
