You may be seeing less of me in your inbox this November. But I promise I’ll be back!
You see, November is NaNoWriMo1—National Novel Writing Month—and that means that between today and November 30, yours truly will be writing 50,000 words of a new fantasy novel. Which doesn’t give me a lot of time to sit at my computer and send out little love notes to all of you (💔). But remember, distance makes the heart grow fonder… right?!?!
I’m glad I was able to squeeze in this vlog before transitioning into my Very-Serious-Novel-Writer mode for November. This is how I wish you to picture me over the next month, please and thank you:
Moving onto the vlog… This was one of those days when I was incredibly grateful I decided to start The Alphabet Challenge back in July.
For one, it gives me guidance on wide open days when I have no idea what to do and where to begin. But I also found that I had the the confidence to bike to Grünwaldpark—about 3.5 miles from my apartment—because I did the ‘B for Bicycling’ vlog in the summer. That particular vlog showed me I was capable of using my bike as a main mode of transportation.
It’s incredibly satisfying to see this challenge building upon itself in this way, and makes me curious what the future will bring! (19 more letters to go, lol.)
Also, I make a reference to my “third place” blog in this video. If you’re interested in discovering just WHY this neighborhood park felt so special to me, you’ll find all the answers here:
Wishing all of you the best of Novembers.
Stay warm, if you’re in the US: VOTE, say hi to your neighbors, listen to your body, go on awe walks (ask yourself: What Would Anne Shirley Do?), take creative risks, read exciting books, watch the sunrises/sunsets, get lots of sleep, and retreat inward and enjoy what I like to call “human hibernation season.” xoxo
(⬆️I say all this because I will probably be doing very little of that during my November. Except for voting—we sent off our ballots last week!🗳️)
NaNoWriMo has recently gotten into hot water over their recent statement that seemed in support of using AI to write novels. While I won’t be using the website to track my 50,000 words, I’m still participating in the spirit of the challenge as it has largely helped me in the past. If you’re curious, this article shares more about the controversy.
